The Diamondback Fitness 510Sr is a top end recumbent exercise bike that offers a quality build as well as an extremely smooth and quiet performance. Indeed, most people find this bike to be very appealing as its silent feature allows them to listen to music or watch TV while exercising on it, even with normal volume. Going just a little up in price range, it has a very durable frame and is capable of even holding vigorous workouts and exercises. This model is certainly worth its price considering that it offers an extremely comfortable, low-impact workout while at the same effective and diverse thanks to its 20 built-in workout programs.

Workouts used to be a stressful experience for me, and not in a motivational or anxious way, but they would actually put physical stress upon my back and knees. If you’re sensitive to certain types of movements due to a pre-existing medical condition, there’s a number of ways this bike will benefit you.

Comfort level

510sr seatWhen it comes to comfort the 510Sr certainly does a great job. It comes with a sculptured back rest that effectively takes off pressure from the back while exercising and has a comfy seat base that you will really love. It is also designed in a way that it reduces the jarring impacts on the joints when one is delivering vigorous aerobic exercises.

The low impact work-out delivered by this model makes it an excellent choice for people with chronic pain, those recovering from some joint injuries as well as pregnant mothers looking for ways to up their heart rate safely. Whether being used by people in rehab or the elderly, you can rest assured that this bike takes comfort to a next level.

What we really like about this model is that it’s designed to accommodate to a wide array of users, as the seat and the back can be easily adjusted vertically and horizontally. Additionally, you can also adjust the handles and the console. Now this is specially great for those that are sharing the bike with a family member, as in this bike everyone will be able to workout in a customized, comfortable position.

Assembly and parts

The 510Sr comes in many parts so the assembly process can be a bit time consuming, but even though, I think that anybody could do it successfully with just a bit of patience. It came in great condition because it was very well packed, and it also included all the necessary tools, which was nice. The manual was also very explicit, so if you have any trouble with assembling you will surely find it useful.Personally, it took me nearly two hours to put everything together, but at the end I was pleasantly surprised by its solid build.

Additionally, while having these buit-in programs can be practical, if you prefer to customize your workouts, it can also be easily done thanks to its “quick keys” that make switching between resistance levels a breeze.

This model also comes with a water holder so you no longer have to stop exercising to get a glass of water from your kitchen. Also, its cooling fan adds to the comfort already offered by keeping you cool and sweat less even as you increase the intensity of the exercises, which is quite awesome. I personally enjoyed how quiet it was, being that I was able to play my music and not be distracted by annoying sounds.

When comparing the Diamondback bikes to other brands its easily noticeable that they tend to be heavier. The reason why is because they’re placing an emphasis on stability, and although lightweight bikes are useful outdoors, indoors it’s the complete opposite. The 510SR model isn’t an exception as it weights 125 pounds.

Sometimes it feels as if the 510Sr was build for the gym. There are lots of advanced features it can offer to the trained athlete including iPod/mp3 integration, USB chargers, speakers,  headphone jack, and most importantly, up to 16 levels of resistance, which are surely going to give a challenging workout even to the fittest users. All in all, this bike seems to have all the features necessary to make workouts both convenient and effective.

Ease of Use510sr lcd

Despite having lots of workout programs and features as highlighted above, there is no doubt that the 510Sr is designed with user friendliness considerations in mind. There is nothing complicated about this bike and no expertise is required to operate it. Even the elderly can easily do the workouts on their own. Indeed, this is a bike that your entire family will enjoy using as it has everything you would look for in a gym bike.

Although in general users consider this bike a great investment, some have complained about the backlit monitor not being bright enough, and hence making it difficult to read in poor lightning. However, if exercise in a place with good lightning then this shouldn’t be an issue for you.

When you are shopping for a recumbent bike with a solid build, sleek design and high quality parts without having to pay a fortune for it, this is a great model to consider. I am very happy about the Diamondback Fitness 510Sr because it was able to meet and exceed my expectations of a good recumbent exercise bike.

Although it’s considered an entry level bike, you’ll notice that its features are more than comparable to high end ones. In addition, Diamondback offers the same warranty as it does for its more expensive models. Indeed, this model comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and brakes, 3 years for all the electronics and a year worth of labor, which is the same offered for the far more expensive model Diamondback 910SR.
