Recumbent exercise bike comparison

When people think of Reebok, they usually think of the popular line of sneakers that have delighted kids and adults alike for decades and, indeed, the established brand name has done a lot in getting the Reebok Trainer RX 4.0 Exercise Bike some serious attention. It comes with modern features like recumbent seat design, built-in music playing capability, iFit integration, and a whole host of other features aimed at improving workout experience that go above and beyond the average exercise bike.Reebok Trainer RX 4.0 Seat

Comfort and Ease of Use

Like all recumbent bikes, this model is ergonomically designed for maximum comfort during workout sessions and should eliminate all aches and pains that users of other exercise bikes are likely familiar with. Indeed, the strong back support and relaxed body position provides maximum comfort and should keep you focused on getting the most out of your workout.

The LCD screen on the RX 4.0 is quite large and the buttons and overall user interface are very intuitive. New users should quickly get the hang of selecting workouts and navigating through the entire workout data provided on-screen. On the physical side, the bike is small enough to be easy to mount but large enough that most users should still feel comfortable on it.

As far as features, this particular recumbent bike has a lot going on for it. It features a recumbent seat design (increasing in popularity in modern bikes) that puts the user in more of a relaxed semi-horizontal position while riding. This – especially combined with the strong back support provided by the padded seat – ensures that as little strain as possible is placed on sensitive areas like the lower back. This allows the user to focus solely on their workout and not be distracted by nagging aches and pains that can annoy users of other exercise bikes.Reebok Trainer RX 4.0 Monitor

As far as the workout itself, the recumbent bike features a whopping 30 different workout programs15 intended for weight loss and another 15 intended for improving fitness and endurance – that will certainly offer enough variety even to the most exigent user, and at the same time will allow users to precisely set their work-out level to match their fitness level and unique goals. It also allows more creative users to design their own custom workouts (up to two).

This model’s 20 resistance levels will also allow beginners to start on a low difficulty and then work their way up the resistance setting as they build strength, and at the same time will prove challenging enough for the more advanced athletes.

The recumbent bike also integrates with the iFit workout card technology that puts the customized workouts of some top fitness experts across the internet at your fingertips. This is great for users with a favorite TV trainer like Jillian Michaels.

Finally, this model entertains while it trains. It’s compatible with iPods and MP3 players and allows users to bring their favorite playlists with them to workout. You can enjoy your favorite tunes or workout rhythms and select songs to keep you motivated while you ride – perfect for extended workouts where you want to burn a lot of calories or really push your endurance limits.

Assembly and Parts

Assembling this exercise bike is time-consuming. You’ll probably spend an hour or more at it but the good news is that the instructions are very clear and everything you need will be handily available inside the shipping package. As compared to other exercise bikes, this model has a lengthier set-up time but the process itself will be far less difficult than most other bikes because you’ll just be following simple straightforward steps for the most part.

One important thing to note, however, is that – as a brand known for its sturdy products (even its sneakers) – the Reebok’s bike has a strong frame that can handle pretty much anything you throw at it (up to 350 pounds). This made the bike considerably heavier than other similar bikes in its class and also makes it a good idea to move the individual parts of the bike to the floor and the location where you intend to use it before assembling it. It won’t be much fun lugging it around too much after you’ve put everything together.

It’s great to see such a well-built and sturdy machine available in its price range though – even if it is a bit on the heavier side.

I mentioned earlier that this recumbent bike is a bit on the heavier side and this might be a bit of an inconvenience if you need to move it around much after assembling it. The obvious solution to this would be to try finding a suitable area where you can feel comfortable working out at any time and just leave it there indefinitely – it doesn’t take up much space.

This model also lacks the increasingly popular step-through entry design that makes mounting some modern bikes extra easy but this shouldn’t be a problem given its relatively small size and how low the frame is in front of the seat. Mounting the bike is still quite easy but the step-through entry design would have been a nice bonus.Reebok RX 4.0

The Reebok Trainer RX 4.0 Exercise Bike is a sturdy and very well built machine that lives up to the Reebok brand’s reputation for building strong products that last. It supports users up to 350 pounds and – even if you aren’t at that weight – it’s easy to see how this translates into a bike that will handle much lighter users even better without wearing down like some lower quality bikes.

The features it packs make it even more appealing. With all of 30 workout programs included and the ability to create your own (or sync with iFit), there’s quite literally something for every user of every fitness level and unique goals. Combine this with its built-in music player and you’re in for a jamming workout that never gets boring. In fact, for the same price this model offers as many features as the best-selling model Schwinn 270 and more than the Schwinn 250, as well as a wider maximum capacity, thus it’d be a good alternative to such models.

All-in-all, the RX 4.0 is a great exercise bike that gets the job done and does a whole lot more too. This model is readily available on Amazon, and comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and up to 1 year on parts and labor.
