schwinn 120 femaleThe Schwinn 120 Upright Exercise Bike is a high-quality piece of fitness equipment that will help you very easily shed any excess weight with minimal effort from your part. This model is enhanced by several features designed to improve your workout while enhancing your comfort, such as a widescreen display console, preset workout programs, and a handy heart rate monitor.

Additionally, thanks to its club-quality features, this machine will help you cut back on excessive gym fees. Avid cyclists will also be able to indulge in their daily workout without being restricted by the weather and, best of all, this particular product is designed to help you lose between 400 to 1000 calories per hour, with the exact amount depending on the user’s individual weight, age, gender and resistance level.

About the Company

This model is made by Schwinn Fitness, a leading figure in the health and fitness industry since 1895, and globally acclaimed for the exceptional quality of their products. In fact, because of this company’s commitment to quality and affordable prices, we took the time to also review the cheaper model A10, as well as the more advanced 130, 150 and 170.

Since it is an upright bike, this product yields an exceptionally realistic sensation of outdoors cycling. However, with most upright bikes, users have to suffer common issues such as lower back pain and shoulder strains, but this is not a problem with this model thanks to its fully adjustable handles that adapt to the user’s convenience. This product is also enhanced by Schwinn’s BioDyne Performance which basically offers the cyclist a more ergonomic environment to workout in.

The Schwinn 120 comes with a perimeter weighted flywheel that is designed to provide consistency and smoothness during workouts. This model sports an Eddy Current Braking resistance which is actually one of the most recommended resistance systems at the moment. Users will have a choice of 16 tension levels and will hence be able to adapt their workouts to their stamina, fitness capacity and overall schedule.

Additionally, users will be able to choose between up to 10 preset programs, including fitness tests and different course profiles. Now although those aren’t options as offered by more advanced models such as the 170, it’s certainly enough to keep you entertained.

The upright bike is also equipped with a widescreen display console to help users keep track of relevant fitness data such as calories burned, distance covered, workout time, watts, RPM and the likes. Thanks to the grip-placed heart rate sensors, you will also be able to keep a close track on your heart rate, something which can come in quite handy to cardiovascular patients.

Comfort and Ease of Useschwinn 120 pedals

From the retractable reading rack to the water bottle holder, this upright bike delivers quite a few amenities designed to make your training session much more effective and comfortable. Indeed, if you don’t feel like watching a movie while you work out, you can simply use the reading rack to prop up your favorite book or magazine as you pedal away. This is also quite a helpful option for students since it combines working out with lecture notes.

Another feature which I personally appreciated was the built-in fan system, which is a helpful addition to anyone who likes to indulge in longer and more intense workouts since it will keep any excessive sweating at bay. It also includes a water bottle holder to prevent users from having to continuously pause their workouts to get some water. As far as training music goes, this bike is even equipped with a pair of high-quality speakers to motivate you with fast, rhythmic beats.

Storing the upright bike is also quite an easy task. While it does not have a foldable feature, it comes with a series of handy transport wheels that enhance its mobility and allows you to carry it to any room of your choice. The ergonomic seat is an added bonus to your comfort since it automatically adapts to the shape of your body, largely limiting the risks of pains and aches.

Assembly and Parts

The Schwinn 120 is surprisingly easy to assemble, even for people who aren’t used to such tasks. While most of the smaller pars came disassembled, the larger parts and most of the frame were loosely joined together and this largely facilitated the assembly process.

The packaging does include all the necessary tools and other equipment needed to join the different pieces. Users will also receive a highly detailed manual with step-by-step instructions to help them quickly and efficiently join the different pieces together. Personally, it took me just slightly over thirty minutes to assemble the bike.

With such exceptional features, there were hardly any downsides reported with this upright bike. A few people found the assembly process to be on the harder side and another user had some issues with the resistance setting, but otherwise, the overwhelming majority of users were satisfied with this particular product.schwinn 120 wheels

A Solid Investment

All in all, we really liked this versatile model. In fact, its 16 resistance levels make the Schwinn 120 Upright Bike challenging enough even for the advanced athlete, while at the same time beginner users will be able to start on a low difficulty and have quite a lot of space to grow.

The best thing about this bike is that- for an affordable price- it comes with an impressive 300 pounds of maximum capacity, making it entirely suitable to people of various sizes.

Lastly, the Schwinn 120 is available on Amazon and is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty of 90 days on labor and wearable parts as well as 5 years on the frame.
